Sorry to do this, but I feel very strongly about this organization. And is it really a shameless plug if I am blogging about a non-profit? Anyway, here goes (I’ll make it quick):
Established in 1945, the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation is the fundraising arm of UCLA’s Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (JCCC), which is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s top 10 cancer centers. Numerous successful targeted therapies have been developed based on science done in JCCC laboratories and subsequent clinical research with patients. A few of the more well-known treatments include:
▪ Herceptin, a targeted breast cancer drug and the first approved treatment that attacks cancer at its genetic roots
▪ Tarceva, a targeted lung cancer drug
Contributions to the Jonsson Cancer Center Foundation help important efforts in areas such as clinical research, cancer survivorship, and the development of new therapies.

Thanks for listening!
